Contact Lens Care for Varsity Lakes, the Gold Coast and Tweed Region Since 2003

Hi, I’m Paul Graham, the principal optometrist at Harmony Vision Care.

A successful contact lens result involves more than matching a lens to your prescription. Your eye shape, eye health, visual priorities and daily activities can all influence which lens may suit you.

At Harmony Vision, our approach is “Optometry for the Individual”. We assess your vision and discuss the available options before recommending an approach. This may include disposable or custom lenses, toric lenses for astigmatism, multifocal options, Ortho-K, or specialised designs for more complicated corneas.

Whether you are trying contact lenses for the first time, returning after an unsuccessful experience or looking beyond the standard disposable range, our team will help you understand what may be possible.

Step 1: Understand Your Vision and Lifestyle

We discuss your eyesight, previous lens experience and what you want contact lenses to help you do—from work and reading to sport and social occasions.

Step 2: Assess Your Eyes Carefully

Your optometrist considers your prescription, eye health and eye shape. For complex corneas, computerised eye-shape assessment can help guide the choice of lens design.

Step 3: Consider the Available Lens Designs

Depending on your assessment, options may include disposable, toric, multifocal, custom-made or specialised contact lenses. Recommendations are based on individual suitability.

Step 4: Learn to Handle and Care for Your Lenses

If you are new to contact lenses, we teach you how to insert, remove and care for them, with time to build confidence at your own pace.

Step 5: Review Comfort, Vision and Eye Health

Follow-up allows us to review comfort, vision, eye health and real-world lens performance, then refine the fitting when needed. Contact lens fitting fees apply.

Can I wear contact lenses with a high prescription?

High prescriptions do not automatically rule out contact lenses. Some are available in standard disposable ranges, while prescriptions outside those ranges may require a custom-made lens. Suitability is assessed individually.
